Default They are finally here

I think the kings are finally here in number. A little late, but I'll take it. Caught 4 fish this AM out of Pcola, about 1 an hour. When I launched at daylight bait was as thick as Ive ever seen it, every cast was a full sabiki. Kings were at 45-50 ft, I trolled shallower and deeper but every fish and even a few lost ones were at that depth. I trolled live and dead baits, one at the surface, one with a weighted skirt, all but 1 bite was on the surface bait. The two I kept were schoolie sized and are headed to the smoker. The two I released were about 33-36. The larger one fought above his class and peeled of 150+yds of line before I could even reel in my other line. Not a monster fish but the type of fish that makes me love chasing macks. Bobos were everywhere all day long crashing the surface. Also had a pretty epic fight with a pretty big shark that put on an air show. Got him fairly close to the side of the yak and he was at least half the boat length (so at least 6ft) Fun day on the water. If you want a king, I'd get out there early.
lake13, boomyak and NLytle like this.

Great report! I trolled from chicken bone to the cross and back without a single nibble... Forgot to pick up a sabiki so I was stuck with frozen cigar minnows. Guess that might of been the problem
