Default Snorkeling reef 10/11/17

Last moment I jumped up, grabbed my gear and headed towards beach this morning. Arrived waterside of snorkeling reef about 7ish after grabbing some frozen bait from GB Bait and Tackle. Paddle out, dropped the bait rig, before it hit bottom nice sized spanish hit...after than nothing...no bait balls or fish located on finder...realizing Iím less than 50 yards from shore I was already in 50ft of water...so I paddled out a bit father while trolling...water, wind, current and fish activity dead as it could be...after an hour a so, pulled in a huge remoras...paddling back in I heard a thunk...look back and realized I was being followed by a small hammerhead...while stopped to admire, he starts ramming my yak three or four times then after he came up the side, I decided it was time to paddle on....bit closer to shore I start reeling in my line for trolling to check to see if I have bait still attached, I see he is now following it. He quickly approached then passed, guess feather dusters are not his thing. As I was watching him swim off, my reel about snaps in half and falls in water. I grabbed it just in time to see a huge fin come out of water, my reel screams then line snaps. I really liked that duster......

I continue back towards shore, upgrade my hook and leader and toss on some bait chunks...no sooner the meat hits the bottom it gets snagged up...two small sharks later, ton of excitement and exhausted I realized Iím going to be late for work. Oh well lol

Both sharks were reeled in quickly as possible, dehooked and sent in they way in addition with some spare bait.

I am not best with judging distance but I was close enough I could hear the people talk on the shore...could not understand them but could hear...I know I was MUCH closer to shore than Iíve ever been when it was that deep.
