Default Reds and Trout

Launched on a whim around 9am armed with live shrimp. Was riding high on the Gator loss and was hoping for a great day. Launched near Jim Fish Camp and went to a good looking spot, got my first bite around 10am it was a 12" red. Nice looking fish, nice spot pattern too.Started to take a pic and behold the batteries are dead. So he went back to fight another day. After that not much, caught some catfish and chophers. ( forgive me if I spelled that wrong). So at 3pm Im rebaiting after another damn catfish when I here my favorite rod going into the water. I tried everything I knew to do to get it back but couldnt find it. This is also my first time losing a rod why did it have to be my best one. Ok well I decide to make lemons out of lemonade and move spots. Thats when I found the specks at about 4pm, caught 7 of those averaging 10inches and could have kept going too. Im sure the folks on the dock were tired of watching me catch fish. Not a bad day but now I need to replace my rod. I would also like to know who the fellow was in the orange or red kayak that spoke to me. If you would like to team up for a day let me know. I was in a green Pelican I was near the 90 bridge in front of the Simpson fishing pier.

Capt K,

That was me you spoke with, in the red kayak. We both share a common bond since I lost a spinning combo several days earlier to an over-zealous blacktip shark.

Let's meet up next time you get a chance. I found some fish after I talked to you. Tried a spot farther out in the bay but the wind was too rough so I worked back towards the bridge and found a spot loaded with fish. I sat there for two hours catching rat reds, specks, and white trout. All on artificials; flukes, gulp, and a gold spoon.

I'll be there tomorrow morning around 7 AM. I'm busy Sunday, but will likely try it some afternoon during the week after work.

Let me know,

tmber8
