Default Quick trip before the weather gets nasty

I decided to head out this evening for a few hours before the weather falls apart. I fished upper escambia, east side of the bay. The action started off slow but once the tide started to come in so did the bait and reds and specks. The action was best about an hour before sunset. I primarily fished top water and live finger mullet. I managed a few slot reds and a handful of trout, with the biggest being about 22 inches. It was great to get out. I was the only one there.

Nice going! No fishing for a few days now, I guess. Surfers are probably pretty happy.

I caught them in my cast net at the launch. The water was pretty dirty so I just threw my net around shore and was able to pick up a few. The biggest red ate a live pinfish.
