New Years Day Speck Report
Wife and I went out on N.Y.day and it was off and on windy. But by late afternoon and early evening got totally calm. Helen was able to go fishing with her new knee high boots I got her. She was able to launch and land in the water. I had to deal with the little neoprene shin booties. My boots will fedex in later this week.
Anyway, the smaller trout were biting off and on here and there all day, but by late afternoon and early evening they picked up quite a bit and they were getting bigger. I threw back quite a few 15 to 17 inchers. Helen kept one 17" from the beginning. I refused anything but a nice size fish. Helen eventually added a 19 1/2 at dark and I nailed a 20 1/2 and lost another good size one, maybe around 20 at the boat on the way in. So we brought in 3 nice fish.
