Default New type of lure

Only been kayak fishing for a little over six month, and new to inshore fishing also. Want to thank everyone for your post as there is always something to learn from all of them. Also want to thank Nick for the lesson on how to fish with topwater lures. It has really been paying off as of late.

Went out Friday (11-17) and was on the water at 5:15 am. Was fishing an area that I had only fished a couple of times. Saw a dock with really bright lights and figured it might be attracting bait (read about that on the forum). Paddled over and began throwing topwater. The sky was just starting to get a thin red line, as I made about 5 cast with no luck, but heard a large splash off to my right. Threw to the noise and it was fish on. Landed the attached Red. Continued to throw topwater and got smaller Reds. Used a MR-17 (read about that on the forum) and hooked with a couple of short Specs. So you can see it was it was a group effort, thanks guys.

Back home by 8:30 and finish filet the fish decided to check his stomach contents to see what he had been eating. When I opened him up I was surprised to find a baby teething ring. Now I'm thinking that any of you Dads with young kids who have outgrown the teething phase here is a perfect use for the leftover rings. All you need to do is attach a hook.
