new to this
welp, it was bound to happen. As the title reads I am new to kayaking and landed my first fish this weekend and have been out 3 other times with no luck besides a pin fish so non the least i was really excited with my first real catch.
The first day i was in gulf breeze and caught a 21 inch speckled trout. It put up a really good fight. It was caught on a DOA shrimp.
The next day i hit it up early in the morning and grab a couple of live shrimp and started dock hopping in the navarre sound. The fishing was slow for the first 2 hours. I pull up a to a dock and throw my live shrimp and then my reel is singing, out of excitement i let the fish get the best of me and it gets around wooden structure and breaks my line breaks. afraid that the fish are going to leave i re-tie my carolina rig as fast as i can even though i have my other pole with a jig and soft plastic.....non the less i get my shrimp on the hook and throw it where i got the first bite and as soon as i see the shrimp sink it gets hit and i am ready for the fish this time....it was a nice 15 inch red which fought hard but not as hard as the first. For the next 30 minutes i fight reds almost as soon as i throw my line in the water all under size but still very fun and helping me learn on how when and why. It was fun and def some experience i needed. All fish were released

Nice report and photos. A few more trips in your kayak and you'll be a seasoned pro.
Thanks for sharing.
