Default Navarre Beach 1st Kings

So I was supposed to go fishing on Thursday with Ginzu and Blackjeep but I got off a little early from work and decided to take a nap. Well several hours later when I woke up it was already dark. I was out to redeem myself on Friday. I got loaded up and headed down to the beach only to realize that I had forgot the cigs in the freezer. I went to the Tom Thumb, no cigs. So I am a little paranoid about leaving my PA loaded up in the back of my truck so I sprinted up the store on the pier and got a couple pounds of frozen cigs. I finally got in the water by about 5:15 and from the weather channel I had about 2 hours of daylight. I started out by trolling a frozen cig on a plain king rig and a stretch. Took me about a hour back and forth south of the pier but I finally landed my first king. He measured in at about 32".

Fast forward to this morning and I got up and decided to succumb to my addiction of checking the forum. Saw that Ginzu was going out again and decided to tag along. The surf wasn't too bad at all but the dark cloud and constant thunder sounded pretty ominous. Ginzu hooked into a nice King and then landed a really nice Blackfin that got him tangled up pretty good. At this point it had been a couple hours and he decided to head in to enjoy some sashimi while I was still looking for a bite. I was reeling my lines in at one point and somehow s fish had mangled most of my cig and proceeded to tangle up both my lines in a ridiculous birds nest. It started to rain at this point and having to fish in between huge sportfishers Cobia fishing that looked like they could reach out and touch the pier, it did not look good. I was sort of headed in and got a really nice hit but no hookup. Set another cig out and the seagulls were diving on it. another hit but no hookup. By now with the weather and reaped hits I am getting pretty po'd. I finally get a nice hookup that just takes straight off. After a few minutes I get him to the boat and he measured at 36". Headed straight in after that and started to get poured on when I got home and was washing off the PA.

I have had a few fish flop out of the ruler before. I don't always need the straps but they are nice just in case. All it is, is a cheap bungee.
