Default Navarre 5/7 and 5/8

Took the wife out Saturday Sunday, Saturday bait was everywhere just couldnt get them to bite anything so stuck with frozen cigs. After an 1/2 hour wifes rod gets slammed after 10 minute turns out to be a bonito that was foul hooked in the side. So reset everything start trolling again then bam wifes rod gets slammed again this time its a nice Cobia after a 10 or 15 min fight we get the cobia in the yak. After getting the gaff and hooks out of the fish its decides to do some barrell rolls and right off the kayak he goes. Learned a valuable lesson beat the hell out them or they will get out the kayak! So feeling defeated kept trolling not much caught small spanish and the plenty of remoras. Sunday no bait to be found, start trolling to a snapper spot start seeing fish splashing trolling towards it wifes rod gets slammed hard line is screaming off im thinking possible blackfin but shortly after line goes slack. We get our spot and start bottom fishing. Couple hours of that only caught 5 or 6 undersize snapper small trigger and appearance by the tax man chasing the small trigger. Also had dolphin show up trying to steal the snapper we threw back. All in all not to bad of a weekend guess it was a catch and release kinda weekend

Man the cobia must've been starving this weekend! I caught one in destin and you and another guy I know caught them in Navarre saturday!
Even though you didn't get those fillets it sounds like you still had plenty of action. Sounds like a great day and an even better way to spend time with the ol lady!
