Mid-day trip to Simpsons river
I was helping my neighbor with his fence in the afternoon so took a quick trip to the Simpsons river area, on the water about 10am, off by 1pm.
Fished an area of deeper water (6-16ft) that I dont frequent often because it gets more boat traffic. All fish caught on 3in swim shads bottom bouncing, also threw the xr08(olive), xr10(glass ghost), mr17(blue back - lost to a snag) without success.
Landed this fat 16" croaker that fought hard and had me convinced it was a red until I had it out of the water, this 18in red (released) and a few rats. The two pictured here had the always-beautiful blue tip tails, tho the second one isnt as apparent in the picture.

Those reds had some nice spots on them. Nice sized croaker too.
Thanks for sharing.
