Default Messing around in Destin

Since I am moving to GA on Friday my buddy Jason (JD7.62) took me out yak fishing this morning (3/26/12). We got into the water around 10:15 and made our way out, trolling some cigar minnows. Got to the spot around 11:30 and only had 30 minutes to fish since the wife needed me back to help start packing. Anyway, we made about 4-5 drifts with a few undersized snapper and some sand perch. We switched our dead cigar minnow for some of the perch and we both got nailed with those. Jason's came unbuttoned, but I managed to bring up a nice 24 inch endangered ARS. I didn't want to leave, but we paddled back and I got nailed right as we were coming to the beach (about 200 yards off) and lost either a small king or a big spanish at the boat. It was a great day and a nice last fishing trip for me. Hopefully I will get back down for snapper season.

Glad you had fun and you know the way back...

If you're coming up North of Atlanta, give me a holler. I live/fish up here frequently. I can show you the ropes of striper fishing (big ones pull just as hard as anything).
