Default Kayaker on Barges

We were out around the 3 barges yesterday (Sat) saw a Kayaker with a dive flag up on the Barges free diving. The winds were a little sporty and waves were 2 feet. Don't see a post by him just hoping he made it back OK. If anyone knows please post a reply.

I was surf fishing at Ft Pickens at the 2nd parking lot yesterday. At about 10:30 - 11 am I saw a man in a yellow kayak come in from pretty far out. I'm not sure but isn't that the closest place to launch a kayak and reach the Barges? Maybe I have the wrong area completely.

A buddy and I fished the barges this summer snapper season on my buddy's boat. We saw this same guy out there each time we were there. Talked with him a few times, he had an accent, South African I think. Seems like a pretty cool dude, and ballsy as HELL to do what he does!!!

Bluesbreaker, you are correct. That parking lot is the closest to the barges. Though most launch from chickenbone beach, they have to paddle SSE. From that Pickens lot it's almost due south so it cuts off some of the distance.
