Default Hogtown strikeout

Well I finally had a chance to hit the water yesterday and thought I'd use the north part of Hogtown bayou to block any potential wind. The food news of the trip is my fish finder is finally working, and my new rudder control mount worked great.

The bad news is the rudder control mount broke, the fish finder battery went dead, my new seat bends way too far back, and I didn't catch anything. I was drifting through a pretty big patch of water with some kind of bait popping all over the place (any ideas?) but no strikes on anything: a Paul brown silver/chartreuse pattern, paddle tails in golden brim and fighting chicken (with red jig heads) a couple top water lures, and nothing on my silver Rapala 6 ft diver either. Then to top it off, some folks went by in a flats boat, ignoring the no-wake sign, normally not a problem except remember I'm rudder limited at this point. These same people asked me back at the launch if I'd had luck, to which I briefly shared my troubles. The response was to show me the multiple bull reds they caught. Cool, I'm glad someone had some success. I asked if they caught them in the bayou (I counted several bay and flats boats, as well as prob 8 different yakkers) and the only reply I got was "yes." cool, well I'm glad you guys did well! As I walk back to my truck, I overhear this person tell the rest of the party "don't worry, I didn't tell him where we caught them. I let him think we caught them in the bayou."

So much for sharing the sport huh? Well, I've seen some people post some great reports over the last few days, so I'm happy other people are having fun, and hopefully sharing the sport with others, not being a meiser about it.

I'll look to catch em up next weekend!

That's kinda funny, they think those bulls are gonna be in the same spot when they go back. Sorry to hear of your troubles.
