Default Heading east for Mardi Gras weekend

I am planning a bachelor party for Mardi Gras weekend and we are staying in Perdido Key on the beach. Some of us will be doing some surf fishing, but I thought about bringing my outback and maybe fishing the early mornings before the crew wakes up. Hows the report in this area? Should I stick to the beach and what's been biting. Either way, we will be there from Friday till Monday and hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Pompano and Bulls have been doing decent w blue fish mixed in. You can trout fish also. But not to much going on that would be easier to catch on the yak...
