Default Great Day 5.21.12

Yesterday and buddy of mine (The Pitt) and I, tried our luck out in Navarre. It was my first time taking the yak offshore so the fight I got from these fish surprised the hell out of me. Never the less, I landed my first King and Mahi. The Mahi measured 24", fork. Ended up hooking up to another Mahi soon after that was probably in the 40"+ range! Awesome fight, but after a few jumps I ended up losing him. All in all, we ended up with a couple Kings, a Bonito, a Remora and a Mahi. Great belated B-Day present from the fishing gods. My Mahi is in fillet form now.

fun times! probably gonna have to pack all the bass fishing gear in the attic now. i went out for a few hours with another friend today. i caught three king, remora, and had 4 back to back hits with no catch. idk how they manage to miss trailing hooks also. other friend caught two king and a spanish. i did see a small group of mahi in 53ft of water straight off the pier.

Where you in the yellow malibu heading in today?

We were heading out as you were coming in and we talked in the parking lot.

We did good. I got five kings and the fellar I took out got four and a spanish in a couple hours.

We had two kings a piece in the first twenty minutes. Literally we set lines out, went less then a hundred yards and we both hooked up at the same time. We landed and rebaited, went MAYBE another hundred yards and double hook up again. It was a blast. No mahi though.

I saw that mahi you had tail walking accross the surface. I was wondering if you got it in. Good job on the others.

Na that was my buddy I was with. I was in the yellow tarpon 120. I think I might have talked to one of you on the way in closer to the pier.
