A good day fishing
Today was the first day in almost a month I was able to get out on the water. I could not make up my mind to boat or kayak, so I flipped a coin this morning at 0430 and kayak fishing it would be. The morning started slow, with some blow ups on top water, but no hook ups. I picked up a small speck around 0630, but did not get another strike for at least an hour, which turned out to be the biggest fish caught. I did hook a pretty large fish which ripped off a quick 20 yards of line, but I never saw it. I kept moving around following the birds and glass minnows and around 0830 started catching one speck after the other, all in the 10-12 inch range. I did manage one more keeper for supper tonight, All in all, it was a good day, I just hope I don't go another 26 days between trips. The largest fish, pictured below, was caught on a Mirrodine, but the biggest producer was a white Mirrolure Marsh Minnow.
