Default GCKFA Report

The event was well organized and ran as always. Big thanks to everyone who makes it possible.

The weather wasn't to bad where myself and two buddies fished. We never got rained on and the wind was pretty calm for the majority of the morning. Unfortunately, it was from the wrong direction and moved the fish around.

We caught plenty of Redfish but the majority were over 30" and that didn't help anything.

Kevin did land a slot Red and it was good enough for 3rd place! Pretty awesome for a guy who has owned a fishing kayak for less then a month! Congrats, buddy.

The three of us all landed Trout over 19.5". To include a 21" and 23".

Overall, it was a great day on the water.

Big congrats to Chris and Jonathan. They both completed slams and took home 1st and 2nd.

Feel free to add your reports and pictures!

This tournament is always great there are a great group of guys that make it happen. was a very tough day I got rained on and blown around for the first 3 hours it was raining so hard at one point I couldn't see 10' in front of the yak but kept fishing and it paid off.

Not a whole lot of catching, but did manage top spanish mackerel! Video is the same; mostly paddling, a tiny bit of catching.

This Saturday in the gulf was the first time I've ever felt the symptoms of being seasick, staring at my FF and trying to bottom fish while being rocked around was not something I found I enjoyed after awhile. Then I just couldn't find a king.

I definitely agree I called it quits around 10. It was ridiculous, I should have stayed inshore.
