Default First Time in Mulat - 12/13

I'm back in town for the holidays and wanted to get some fishing done. Decided to key in on Mulat based on reports, but I also want to try Blackwater before I leave.

We launched the yaks at Archie Glover at about 8:30 a.m. It didn't take long to find the trout, they were grouped up in deeper water near the launch. It did take us some time to find keepers. We caught two decent keeper specks and then moved on after the bite died off.

Over at the trestle we were swarmed with rat reds. I think we caught 5 within 15 minutes before moving out.

On the way back, we caught a few more short reds and a hybrid, a first for me. Overall, plenty of fish were caught, but we didn't get to keep as many as we wanted.

Is there a size regulation on striper or hybrids that I should be aware of? It wasn't too large, and I didn't want to keep it without knowing. I'll also try to upload pictures later.

Check out FWC and read the regulations. It's better to have the first hand knowledge.

Thank for the report.

Just looked it up. Apparently there's a bag limit of 20 with no more than 6 fish having a length greater than 24 inches. This guy was about 12 or 13 inches anyways.

Good day anyway, considering the wind.

Glad you did the right thing and put that one back.

Without being in the boat or holding it, I'd say it's a true Striper.
