Finally got back out on the water this morning. Launched at Archie Glover around 7 am, paddled over to the docks and threw a spinner bait for a while before heading North to work the shoreline. Switched to topwater, thew it in the weeds, twitched it a couple times and a bass hammered it. Caught two that way. Other than that the bite was really slow, with just a few more nibbles. Great time out on the water nonetheless!
To any of you more experienced guys and gals out there:
I'm assuming all this rain we've had lately has dumped a bunch of freshwater into the bayou, which is why the bass were around. Is that likely?
Also, if the rain did dump a lot of freshwater in the bayou, would that slow down the speck and red bite?
