Default First Mahi 5-19-12

Knocked another fish off my bucket list yesterday at Navarre Beach He hit a thawed out killerbee ballyhoo on a dusted king rig. Rough ride once out and only spent a little over a hour on the water before heading in with my catch.
Thanks to AFSOCSGT and B.Fine for help getting my lost camera back to me, so I was able to post these pics

Mahi fought like a champ! Nearly jumped into my Outback during his initial rush. I almost lost it several times, including one that had him jumping out of my yak and throwing my gaff 10ft(good thing it floats)...I won though Frying up for the wife today.

Nicely done. Nothing like making a trip just to target a specific species and succeeding in doing so. Ive got three small mahi this month, still waiting on my decent one.

Thanks guys. It was definitely sweet catching what I went out for. This mahi was caught about maybe a 1/2 mile off the beach...45ft of water

Anyone hear of anyone catching mahi off the Navarre Pier this weekend? I can't see them not catching some with them being so close now.
