Default First Gulf trip

Decided to take advantage of warmer weather today and venture into the Gulf. Hit up yellowfin for some bait and tips and was on the water by about 11 a.m.

Ultimately the trip was a bust, made it to a couple public number spots, but didn't mark any fish at all, at all! I saw what looked like some bait off the bottom at one point, which is what I think ate the face of the frozen sardine I sent down. So after a couple hours of peddling on circles, I started back in. Finally marked some fish around 15 ft depth, but didn't get a look at anything. Over all it was a strike out, but I enjoyed the solitude! Hopefully I can get one more yep in before I go back to work next week.

I fished today too and it was a slow day. Fished from 7-3:30 and between three of us we only managed 5 flounder and two short trigger and 5 throw back red snapper. I know it does not sound bad, but these spots usually produce more.

I was. I'm only gonna be in this part of the country for a finite amount of time, so I wanna go whenever I can! Of course, I don't know what I'm doing half the time so even if the fish were there I'm not sure it'd do any good ☺

There's a handful of public spots off of there you can look up and I'm sure if you went looking you could find some others of your own. It's a great stretch of beach to fish.
