Default First Gator

Fathers Day was way to windy to fish, so I went fishing. Thanks to KingMe!!! for selling me a much safer kayak than the one I had been using the past few years. Found a great spot almost out of the wind, and started drifting live shrimp across this beautiful clear flat. First drift, the shrimp was going crazing, jumping out of the water, trying to get the hell out of there, them BOOM! Water splashed everywhere, my drag was screaming, I was anchored up and only using a Penn Battle 2000 with 10lb mono. I dropped the anchor ball and started fighting. 20 minutes later I had what I thought was an over-slot red close to the 'yak. 5 minutes later I see spots and almost shit my pants. It's the biggest speck I have ever seen in my life. Finally get the grips on her, paddle back to the ball and get back on the anchor. She is 28" inches!! Try to take a picture but with my hands shaking so bad and the wind rocking the 'yak it didn't turn out so great. I don't care. I ease here over the side with my grips back in her mouth, and she turns her head real hard and I lose the grips! I JUMP OUT OF THE YAK. Into waist deep water and get my hands back on the grips. While she is reviving I have a pee. After that I caught another fat 21" (released) kept a 18" trout and a 13" flounder for diner. What a great fathers day.

Yep that's a fatty! Congratulations on that catch. I know the struggle you went through, I've still yet to catch a gator trout

Nice trout, congrats! I'm hoping to get into them in a few weeks.
