Default First Bull Red

After 20+ years in Atlanta, I decided to move back to Pensacola. A friend introduced me to kayak fishing and I was hooked. We've caught several redfish this summer, but the largest one I could land was 23". I launched from Couey Rd in Milton around 7am and headed south. On my 3rd cast I felt a giant tug and once he felt the hook, he took off. He pulled the kayak around a little bit, but I got him in the net pretty quick. Got him measured and snapped a quick pic, before I let him go. The picture doesn't do him justice. He was a beautiful fish. Great color. I was happy to let him go. 29" to the tip of his tail.

I hate Redfish. I've been catchiung them jokers between 29-43" long, no keepers. Not to say I'd keep a slot one, but it'd be nice if I did. At least it'd give me something to think about.

Great job you did, and hope the luck continues. They're fun to catch, legal or not. You did not mention what you caught him on?
