Default Finally...Some Reds!

As some of you know, just bought my first kayak about a month ago (Wilderness Ride 115) and have been learning to fish from it. I've been doing ok with the Specks in the Bay north of Destin, but hadn't caught any keeper Reds... till yesterday. Tried live shrimp in the very shallow water around north end of Mid Bay Bridge in the morning and that did the trick! Caught 6 total and kept these two (each around 21 inches, 3-4 lbs ) Way fun in a lightweight 7 ft spinning rod and 12lb test! Caught a couple on a gold spoon with 10lb test as well. just to see if I could. Thanks again to everyone for all your tips and wisdom. I've met a few if you on the water already as well. Looking forward to meeting more of you and hitting the gulf in the spring.

Great report. I fish the South flats of the Mid Bay bridge quite a bit. Never have a whole lot of luck with Reds though.
