Launched just after 5:00 this morning, made a quick 5 min. paddle to my 1st target, a dock I’ve had success on in the past.
3rd cast w/ a jig-n-soft plastic resulted in the 21” trout in the pic. Released to spawn more lil trout.
Continued to work down the bank following the mullet activity. Hooked and lost 2 more large trout. Boated 2 about 17”, kept those.
I noticed what looked like reds crushing mullet, so I eased out my kayak and waded in their direction. I had stumbled upon a school of slot reds and managed to hook 3, broke 2 off boated one to keep the trout company.
It was a great morning to be on the water. I had the entire area to myself, no one was fishing this portion of Esc. this morning.
Couple of fish pics. for your viewing pleasure.
