Default Eglin area

Went out today around Eglin with no luck. I recently just got into kayak fishing and just learning the in's and out's. A lot different than fishing a small stream in WV. I fished around the Bear Creek Marina if anyone is familiar. There seemed to be a lot of fish breaking the surface for a few hours. I used some frozen shrimp under a float and got a few hits. Also used a gold spoon and a rapala which seemed to catch more grass than anything. If anyone has any advice for a rookie around that area it would be appreciated.

head to the back of the bayous and deeper holes this time of year, especially as it gets cooler, the fish you saw breaking the surface were mullet most likely. if I were in your shoes id work a soft plastic or bucktail very slowly in weekly bayou, or the lagoon by postal pt. good luck
