Default early morn. trip-1-30-16

NLytle & I launched this morning at 5:30, we were facing no wind, slight incoming tide and cold temps, air temp was about 45F.
Our game plan was to watch for striper movement thru a travel corridor till just after daylight, then hit trout & red spots.
Stripers didn’t show themselves so we decided to chase trout n reds.
Moved to the 2nd target, shoreline, dotted w/ structure of all sorts, water ranging from bank to 20+.
Started tossing mr-17, jigs-n-Z man paddle tails & jerk-baits in about 3-10 ft. of water. We found some small trout hanging nearby dock structure in about 8 ft…, pulled 5 from that spot before being a boat spooked them.
Moved to 3rd spot, more structure and some fresh water inflows, managed 1 small striper on the mr-17 and next cast, the red in the photo nailed it. Both fish were feeding, they completely inhaled the mr-17.
Didn’t catch anymore, we called it a day around 9:00.
Total tally:
7-8 trout 12-16”
1 striper – 14”
1 red – slot, didn’t measure it.
All fish caught on mr-17 and released.

Bruce, you are the fish whisperer, I know how NLytle feels trying to keep up with you.

Absolutely!
I can't thank you enough.

The ONLY 2 drawbacks (for me)

1) length of time to travel to target spots, I'm impatient
2) hard to properly work my jerk bait the way I like, until I own something I can stand in
