Default Daphne Specks

Me and the wife fished the Daphne pilings Sunday and had a good day considering we got a late start ( excessive celebrating after Bama game ) We where greeted by a dead low tide and a nasty chop. It was a little slow to start, but once the water started moving agin we had a steady bite all afternoon. We managed about 20 or so specks apeice and had a nice 27" red in the mix. Only keep 10 to fry up for diner and a still had a nice mess for a friend. All fish where caught on lures( coc a hoo, m17, and spook Jr ) The m17 was the go to bait today and the spook produced the bigger fish for us.
We are new to kayak fish and would appreciate any advice on maintenance, accessories, and storage. We have a 2013 PA14 and a 2012 Outback and I have already figured out they scratch easy.

It is the PA14 and it is nice. I did try a couple different models before I went with the 14

You kinda have to just put up with the scratching. They can handle it. Just be sure to rinse them after saltwater use and anything corrosive will last a lot longer.

Nice haul!

First time I took my kayak out I was under the Destin bridge looking for sheepshead. The pilings scratched the hell out of it. I always rinse it off and nothing else has happened to it. The scratches just mean you use it.
