Default Bull Reds off of Pickens

Went out to see if my winter fun fish were around yet with Ginzu. It was colder (and stayed colder) and windier/rougher then the forecast said. But hey, whos surprised?

Anyhow, on the drive down we passed a pile of pelicans diving, I figured they were on reds. After we launched we came across acres of bull reds. I caught five in about as many casts. Could have sat there and caught them till our arms fell off but alas bulls were not what we were after so after a few minutes of fun we left them biting and moved on.

We hit our spots but the small triggers and snapper were so bad we couldnt get passed them. I did manage a very large snapper in the 27-29" range which was nice to see in that area. Also caught a nice bobo. Luckily we found good numbers of good sized banded rudder fish and I limited out on those. I like em better then AJ so they should make some good sammiches!

Only pic I got of the day lol

I keep waiting for an opportunity with a huge school of bulls like that. Someday.

I started to drive to Pickens yesterday but since I was by myself I decided to stay in Navarre. Way to go Jason. I like the color of the floor of your kayak
