Default Brook Hines Lake

Loaded up this morning and made the long journey to Brook Hines Lake. The lake was white capping but I decided to give it a shot despite the warnings from all the folks in boats! I guess they have never saw a kayak before! Started throwing a trick worm for bass, no luck. I switched to some earthworms and caught some bluegill and shellcracker. They were fairly small but a few were big enough to eat. Changed to a 4 " inch weightless worm and caught several bass, no big ones but there is no size limit so I kept a half dozen in the 10 to 12 inch range. I started to call it a day a tied on a white beetle spin to troll with on the way back in. Ended up with a 12 inch crappie. Great day on the water despite the wind and cold( all days are great I the kayak).

Before my paw-n-law passed, we'd fish and keep EVERY bream caught. If they were big enough to bite the hook they would stink the grease up!!! He'd get sooooo mad with me when he'd see me release them 2 inchers......hahaha He called em tater chips!!!
