Default Blackwater specks

Hit blackwater for a couple hours. Started off slow and then around sunset I found the bigger trout. I ended up with 6 with 2 at 24". All were released. The bigger trout hit a suspending rapala.

Nice. I've noticed the last couple days the bite has been best right at dark

Damn fine trout! I have had only limited success with diving plugs and mirro lures, but I have heard of lots of people catching big fish with them.

What type of retrieve do you find triggers a bite?

Thanks. Early morning and prior to sunset I like to throw a suspending rapala or something similar. I typically work the points and drop offs. I typically cast it and do a jerk jerk pause type retrieve. It seems a lot of time they will hit it on the pause. I usually try and vary the retrieve speed. Good luck

Nice job chaps! Great looking fish, and u cant beat a day with two 24" trout in my book. Seeing how I've never been able to boat one over twenty, lol! Thanks for the report.
