Default Blackwater on President't Day

Put in at Mae Ln about 1100 and fished around Peterson Pt area for about 4 hours using Gulp jerkshad and Deadly Dudleys. Caught 7 specs in the 15"-19" range and probably 10 or 12 under that. They were all released to bite another day. I did get into something that fought very hard for about a minute before breaking me off. Would love to have seen what it was.

Wish I could have gone out today. We saw lots of bait around that area on Friday. Caught a few & threw them back. There are lots of specs, reds & flounder up there as well. Were the no-see-ums biting as well?

No problem with the no-see-ums as there was just enough of a breeze to keep them away. The water out in the main channel was getting cloudy with the runoff from the weekend rain but it was mostly clear on Petersons Pt. The last two docks were in the transition zone and I was getting a lot of hits fishing that area between the dirtier water and the clear.

Nice. I launched from Mae on Friday and didn't get a bite all day.. used the same bait. Guess I just missed them. Fished in Pcola today and did much better.
