Default Big dolphin and kings

Went out off of Inlet Beach today with my dad. Trolling a red and a green duster rig with frozen cig and two yozuri crystals. Went out to some hard bottom about 1.5m out and just as we were pulling up the water immediately became calm. We dropped our anchors down just as my lowrance died, however we decided to stay there anyways even if we couldnt see if we were still over the reef. All of a sudden we see large schools of juvenile mahi swim under us. All were about a foot or so long, couldnt get them to bite anything; they would chase all the jigs we had but they were too small i guess. It was really cool to see them just a foot or so away from the kayak, all lit up and blue. My dad caught one on a shrimp but i couldnt get one to stay on.

We trolled back and picked up two kings and abt 6 remoras. We followed the "blue water" slick patch for about a mile and we saw mahi under us the whole way. Great trip

Sorry I cant get the first pic vertical.

Where are the mahi this year? I caught several last year before it got too hot. This year I've made several trips more than I did last year and no mahi and haven't seen anybody get on them.

Andrewsa43, check out my report from today. Found some bigger ones today, they were in 50+ feet and near shore
