Default Bayou trout 11/30

Hit up a bayou tonight in search of some specks. The fish were eager to eat, with many back to back hook ups. Final tally was 25ish trout with 4 keepers, biggest at 20inches and two rat reds. All fish were caught on 1 inch shad tails on 1/16oz jigheads.

Thanks for the report...I'm going to fish some Bayous here in the Choctawachee, but never fished them before in the winter for trout. Is there any particular characteristics that help (depth, structure, drop off etc?). I've been doing some reading and they mention fishing the bayous with fresh water feeding into them and finding deeper holes. This sound about right?

These fish were stacked up on the edge of a channel feeding in the outgoing tide. Look for depth and slow down your lures. Dark mud bottom can help, as does a bit of current.
