Default Archie Glover 11/9

Decided to try out Archie Glover Boat Ramp Friday morning and see what I could catch. I was there last week and only managed to get 1 hybrid bass. I was a little worried about the weather, so I figured this spot would allow me to get back to shore if a storm popped up. I launched around 6:30am and saw a lot of bait on top of the water. I tried all the islands and coves around, but didn't have any luck. I tried soft & hard plastic lures as well as a topwater. Couldn't get a bite. The wind picked up out of the north a bit, so I went up to the train track and just started to drift along the shore. I put on a chartreuse gulp and after about 15-20 minutes I had my 1st bite of the day. He took out line quite a few times and I knew I had a good size red on. When I finally got him to the kayak, I saw that he was fat, but smaller than I thought. Got him netted and measured. 26 3/4". I checked it 4 times to make sure that he was legal. Doesn't get any closer than that. He went in the cooler and I continued to drift and see what else I could get. The next cove yielded another red that didn't fight as hard as the 1st one, but did measure 28". Went around the point and saw some swirls. Made a perfect throw and had a 20" red hit. Although I only had 3 strikes, I considered it a good day on the water.
