Default 5-8-16, Pcola East end

Hit pcola beach this morning looking for a few kings possible Cobia. Water was nice, Bait was every where. Got on the water around 8am loaded up with cigs, first line in around 9 and instant hook up on a 24" Spanish. Look over at my buddy and his rods doubled over, set the hook and got cut by what I'm thinking was a king. Around 1230-1300, water stared boiling with schools of Spanish moving through, pitched in the swarm and bam, second hook up on another 24-26" Spanish. Moved out farther with a fresh cig and got hit again rod doubled over line spooling, went to set and got cut. Assuming another King. All in all decent day, never again will I leave the wire leader at home. ??

When you say East end do you mean east of the pier?

Well east of the pier. We launched right past Portafino. If it wasn't for mothers day tomorrow I'd be back in the am.

Is that a king or a spanish in the pic? The lateral line makes it look like a baby king.

Since I like to eat smacks, I love it when I come upon a large school of smacks ripping into schools of finger mullet. I try to catch as many large smacks as I can to get a limit as fast as I can.
