5 -7 EOP Bobos, Spanish and Shark
Launched at sunrise and easily caught bait. Trolled around for a while and caught 2 spanish and 5 good sized bonitas which I kept for shark bait later.
The last one I caught, I had tired out and it was circling under the yak. I pulled it up alongside the yak and it suddenly got completely re-energized and started fighting to get away. I should have known what that meant and for sure do now but I horsed it back to the side of the yak and right about then the water explodes and a big shark hit my yak and got the bonita.
It got hooked by the lure that bonita ate (A deep diver yozuri) and I freaked out and grabbed my knife to cut the line but noticed the shark was pulling me quickly towards the beach so I eased up the drag and let it pull me around for about half hour. I kept getting it about 15 yards from me and then it would dive and pull off a bunch more line. I really just wanted to get a picture of it. I got it about 30 yards out again and it was on the surface and now there were two others with it. They were all around 7 feet and the one I had on the line dove underneath me real hard and made me feel a bit tippy so I ultimately pussed out and cut the line without getting a pic.
Had my adrenaline going good though. Called it a day after that.
