Default 5-26-16 Navarre Cobia

Waited to head out this morning due to the storms that popped up in the gulf. Ended up launching around 0730 and stopped at the dredge pipes and the snorkel reed to get some bait. Trolled with cigar minnows with no luck and then I switched over to the a blue runner and started drifted about a mile south of the pier. Hooked up to a 43" Cobia. Ended up weighing just shy of 37 pounds on a spring scale. This was defiantly the longest fight I've had in a kayak but it was totally worth it. I can't wait to get back out later this week. Sorry and correction in the date for whatever reason I was totally off this happens on the 31st on Tuesday.

Just goes to show what putting time on the water does for you, (I need to get out more haha). Really nice fish.

Nice cobia. I imagine you were wishing you had worn a cup after having a lap full of that slapping around!

Great catch. You'll get quite a few cobia steak fillets out of that hoss.

Thanks for sharing.
