Default 4/3 and 4/4/16 - A Solid Slot and a few Trout

On the the 3rd I launched around noon to do a little scouting. After a short peddle, I stood up to look around and spooked an entire school of Redfish. These fish were just hanging around in 3ft of water. I waited a bit, in hopes the school didn't move far and then started looking again. I never found those fish.

I changed tactics and found a few Trout. Here's one:

Today, I decided to launch at noon and return to the schooling Reds. The plan was to blind cast the area with a Spook and then switch to soft plastics. I threw a Spook for the first two casts and then pulled out a paddle tail. First cast and a Red crushes the Vortex Shad.

I only caught one Red and never did locate the school. The wind picked up again and I ended the trip just as fast as it started.

That sucks about the Reds. Nice Trout, though!

Tight lines.

Great report Nick, and some nice fish catches. You know where they are at now, that's half the battle! What color Vortex were you using?

Jeff, I was using Blazin Hornet. I have been experimenting with a ton of lures and colors the past few months. Very interesting results!

Dan, I'm glad you were able to register! Congrats, there were a bunch in the area. I was surprised they wouldn't eat!

I caught that Red back where I launched. I'm thinking about going back there today or tomorrow (to where I launched). It was hanging around some posts from an abandoned pier.
