Default 3 Mile Bridge 3/16

Set out this morning to fish 3 mile bridge around 7 AM. Saw a lot of action on my fish finder but nothing seemed to hit live shrimp until I got to the hump. I trolled a YoZuri Green Perch deep diving hard bait the whole way out, no hits. Ended up catching a 26" Red and a 12" Snapper in about an hour with live shrimp on a bay rig. After that the pinfish ended up eating about a dozen shrimp so i called it. Jigged a Vortex Shad "Nightruese" on the way back where there seemed to be action on the bottom, few hits but nothing to show for it. Overall, it was a good day for me. I am brand new to fishing the ocean and kayak fishing. If anyone has any advice for me or wants to go out Sunday PM me. Kind of getting bored with live bait, would love for someone to show me the trick to artificials in areas closed to where I live (Archie Glover, I-10 Bridge, Jim's Fish Camp/Simpson River, Blackwater). For some reason the only action I have been finding the last few weeks is 3 mile bridge which is kind of a hike for me. Good luck guys, tight lines!

Nice. First thing I'd say is ditch the store bought rigs. All that terminal tackle can cost some bites.

Yea I agree make your own rigs and when you're fishing for fish that aren't overly toothy use mono or floro (spell check). I also don't use snaps either I tie the hook straight to the leader with a swivel at the other end

Plenty of action to be found in the areas you mentioned. Figuring places out takes time. Pay attention to wind, tides, and weather patterns. There are plenty of fish in Blackwater.

Congrats on your day at 3MB.

I instantly thought of you when I saw the picture with feet in it.
