Default 20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!

I decided to jump on the SaltStrong strong angler online tournament after seeing Nick talk about. He is absolutely killing it and knocking out a lot of good reports for us. I went out several times of the weekend to the same little bayou that I've been having solid hook ups with trout ranging from 15-18 inches. With the cooler weather I have switched how I have been targeting them. Early morning and later in the evening they have been staying close to the shore/weed lines in shallow water. I believe this is due to it being a muddy bottom area which causes the water to be slightly warmer. During mid day they have been moving to slight ledges and drops offs. So during mid day I will move the yak closer to the grass and cast to deeper water retrieving over the ledge/drop off into shallow water. I have used a variety of different lures which have consisted of the mambo mullet in white with chartreuse tail, matrix shad paired with a golden eye jig head in the lemon head color, 17MR, vudu mullet in magic and root beer color, and a doa shrimp in night glow color. The mambo mullet and vudu shrimp in magic have yielded the most fish but that is also what I had tied on more. Every lure has caught several trout though. The morning and afternoon retrieve has been worked slow, very slow. Mid day retrieve has been at a moderate speed. Here is a list of pictures from the weekend and I'm usually by myself which is why majority look similar. 20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!-uploadfromtaptalk1452184828266-jpg20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!-uploadfromtaptalk1452184842145-jpg20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!-uploadfromtaptalk1452184864827-jpg20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!-uploadfromtaptalk1452184898087-jpg20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!-uploadfromtaptalk1452184924381-jpg20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!-uploadfromtaptalk1452184948111-jpg20160101-20160104 Trout, Trout, and more Trout!-uploadfromtaptalk1452184971942-jpg

Here are the last few pictures I believe I have from the weekend. If you get a chance go sign up for the free online salt strong tournament so we can show them how great the fishing is out here on the west side of FL.
