I got off of work early and decided to give my pastor a call to see if he wanted to hit the water for a few hours. We put in at Indian bayou around 3:00pm and slowly worked our way to the mouth where it meet escambia bay. There was fish blowing up the surface every where and mullet jumping at every turn. I threw everything in my bag, but could not get anything to hit. After reaching the mouth of escambia bay and Indian bayou with no luck and the sun starting to go down, we started drifting back to boat launch with the closing of the incoming tide. My pastor had a couple short strikes along a grass line so we turned around and anchored up. We started hooking up with small trout and as the sun went down I caught a keeper trout at 16in. Five minutes later I had another keeper trout at 17in. Nothing else happened after that so we packed it up and headed home. I was able to get one picture of the first keeper. I have fished up around Jims with a lot of luck all through that area. I've been going back and forth from Simpson River and Indian Bayou the past several weeks with keepers on almost every outing. I'm usually out there by myself so getting a good picture for the report is hard lol. Just a heads up for anybody following this thread, the new mambo mullet by egret baits has been the ticket lately.
