Default 12/5 - 12/11 2015 (Long)

I have not been writing very many reports and have decided to just group them into a few trips.

I only managed three planned trips and one or two evening sneak aways between the 5th and the 11th.

The planned trips panned out much better then the afternoon quickies.

12/5 - This was a planned afternoon launch in BW. I was able to land a limit of keeper Trout. All keepers were between 15-18". I landed to many 14"s to count and a few rat Reds.

This little guy has some character:

12/7 - I explored some new areas of BW with very little tidal movement. I did learn a bunch, but I didn't fish much.

Had an awesome conversation with an older gentlemen in a jon boat. I like to talk fishing! If you see me on the water, I'm willing to BS.

12/11 - I launched BW at twilight. It was as flat as a farm pond in every direction and near the end of a falling tide.

Exploring and learning a little about a new area paid off. I had a plan and forced myself to see it through. I almost ditched the plan and stayed in an area I knew would produce but I had a hunch and I made it work.

I had a nice 18-20" Trout roll at the kayak on my second cast. I was a little frustrated and sat down for a second. I let things settle and tossed to the same spot. The lure was crushed as soon as it hit the water. It was a nice slot Red.

I caught some more fish on this drop off but decided to push forward with the plan. I made my way to another area and quickly picked a few keeper Trout.

Eventually an older gentlemen in a boat showed up. I ended up landing two more keeper Trout and giving them to him. I enjoyed chatting with him on and off, before we parted ways.

I ended up landing a limit of Trout and a limit of Reds. All keeper Trout were between 15-16". Here's a Trout and the second Red:

Nice report. Seems like you are picking apart the area pretty good.

Great report Nick. Good to see you are staying busy with the trout and reds up that way. Nice job!

Thanks Jeff. Plenty of fish to be caught. I'm hoping for some colder weather and a chance for a few large Stripers.
