Default 11 April report

Decided to hit the flats and play hookie from work and try a few hours of fishing. Wasn't able to put the yak in until about 1545 with a good wind blowing..

Had a green back mr17 on one rod and a white bass assassin rigged on a weedless 1/8 EWG.

Caught a handful of specks working the twitch bait, but nothing to boast about. Fighting the wind was a chore. Only caught 2 that were worth the table fare. Hooked up a few times on a top water as the sun was setting. Even had a few hook ups trolling the bass assassin out the back.

On another note, as I'm fighting a fish, I hear a big splash and commotion about 30 yards from me. I turn around and see 4 different times, a dorsal fun and tail fun surface in about 3 feet of water, wrecking havoc on mullet or whatever fish in the shallows. Looked to be about a 4' shark. Glad I didn't pick today to wade that area.. Hahaha.. Tight lines guys and have a good week!11 April report-uploadfromtaptalk1460475424401-jpg11 April report-uploadfromtaptalk1460475436257-jpg11 April report-uploadfromtaptalk1460475453149-jpg11 April report-uploadfromtaptalk1460475461279-jpg11 April report-uploadfromtaptalk1460475470912-jpg11 April report-uploadfromtaptalk1460475478202-jpg11 April report-uploadfromtaptalk1460475508096-jpg

Great report Tim, glad you were able to catch a few healthy trout on a windy day. Been seeing lots of dolphins and gar, but no sharks yet. I'm sure they have been there though.

Very nice photos in your report showing the fish and the baits used to catch them with.

Thanks for sharing.

Tim, looked like a good day. I have a Plano bump board like yours. I took a black Sharpie and highlighted the marks. The size is much easier to see in pictures.

Any day on the water, fish caught or not, is a great day!!

I'll have to do that with the sharpie. Thanks!
