Default 11/11/15

I love a cold front and a strong falling tide.

After a strong debate with myself I decide to stay in the Sound. Everyone keeps saying the Trout have left and they have not been as large this year.

I have been slaying fish the past week. Even during neap tide the fish didn't seem to care.

This morning I landed three 18" Specks and lost two or three at the kayak. I had a few monsters role of the topwater but would not commit.

The surface temperature of the water was 69 when I launched and I knew it was going to be a good morning. I caught the majority of the fish between 0600-0900.

About 0930 the sun came out and so did the slot Reds.

I caught to many to keep count!

I met my wife at the launch site and had a little picnic for lunch and then launched for the second time.

I had one thing on my mind....Bull Reds!

At 40" plus and 24 plus lbs this beauty was landed quickly with a Fenwick Predator (Thanks Chris) paired with a Abu Garcia Revo Toro NACL.

How do you work your topwater lures. I don't think I'm doing it right.

H-MANEOD - It really depends on what the fish want. I just keep changing what I'm doing until something works.

Nyltme,

Good you are catching them over your way at Navarre. But here, west of you, believe me I have tried, and even renewed my efforts after reading your last report. Nothing though. Some dinks yes, but my experience is that the good trout have left for winter pastures, and the youngsters are too stupid yet to follow.

Still onto the flounder though, and today the spanish -big ones, made an unexpected appearance today in the grass. Actually, they have probably been there at least a couple days as I figured it was blues cutting me off.

SWAngler - Where do you normally launch?

I need a Spanish for an online tournament!

Fish the deep side of the grass from the EPA west. Actually couldn't get away from them...the spanish. Finally packed it in and paddled back. Ran across a yakker there targeting flounder for the Bronson's Tournament. He had just caught a 17" on Gulp, along with many smaller. Same Tournament?

Good luck as the boats will be thick there now!
