Default 11/10 & 11/11 slow but worthwhile

I got out of class just before 11 on Monday and decided to go look for some gators. I went to an area that's produced for me before but usually a little later in the year. Overall it was kind of slow but I managed a nice fat 22" speck and a good sized slot red. It's nice to know they're showing up to my spots already!

Today I went again with the same goal, big trout. I wanted to scout an area that I've been trying to figure out for s while now. When I got there mullet were going crazy and almost immediately I hooked a big redfish but pulled the hook. Aftet that I started throwing everything I had but couldn't get bit! I finally got to my favorite topwater and on my first cast caught a small trout and about a 20" trout followed it all the way to the yak. I kept working topwater and got a few big blow ups and hooked one big trout I'd guess 23-25" but I pulled the hook before I could get it in the net. The next hour was super slow until the tide started moving again. The last fish I hooked I think was a monster trout. It bit and fought just like a speck but took way more drag than what they usually do. Unfortunately I pulled the hook again before I ever got a positive ID on it. Today was frustrating but enjoyable nonetheless. Glad that I'm figuring out the patterns for these spots too. I think I have a new favorite trout spot even though it's definitely a hard area to fish. Just gotta take the time to figure it out!

Nice looking trout. It seems the areas I normally fish are starting to slow down. Time to go find them else where. Thanks for the report.

That's a nice trout in that photo. Looks like dinner to me.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks but actually that one is more like breeding stock size and was released to fight another day
