Default 1/6/13 slow

Fished this morning with Chad Skeeles. Had a SLOW morning on the water this morning. Not really sure what was going on but the fish sure weren't biting where we were at!!! However, we still managed to catch a handful of slot trout with a couple over slot and a slot redfish! This was the biggest trout of the day @ 22.25"!!! Fish were caught on Exude jerk baits, Slayer Inc. Plastics, and Rapala X-raps in 2-6 foot of water. Anyone else experience a slow bit this morning?

I went to Escambia bay this morning and caught 40+/- trout. Most were 15''-16", ten were 16"-18" and one was 20". All were caught on Mirrodine 17MR in 3'-6' of water. I had to cover a lot of water to find them too.

I fished Blackwater from 2 to 5 pm this afternoon. I did not get a bite for the first hour and a half but once I found the trout I hooked a fish on almost every cast until I headed to the ramp. Early on most of the fish were barely over the slot but as it got later the fish got bigger. I caught a few fish that would have pushed 20 inches and a bunch in the 16-18 inch range. I found the fish using a mirrodine 17mr. I then switched to a fluke rigged like a banjo minnow and the trout could not resist. I did not catch any redfish.

I had a convict roundup today. caught 9 myself and 2 of my buddies also caught some. A 22.25" trout would make me pretty dang happy right about now, I've been having a hard time finding any of 18"

Thanks guys! It was a pretty good morning. We were in a spot where we could have caught a bunch if slots but we were looking for big fish for the Bull & Gator Challenge.

Butcher- glad you got into em! If you can find the school it's fun!

Bo- nothin wrong with 9 convicts! Where are you trout fishing?
