Default 1/22/13 Quick Trip

I got home from work and the weather was nice so I made a quick trip to an area I haven't fished in a while. I launched at 3:45 and got back to the launch at 5:45. The trout bite was awesome this afternoon. I caught 5 fish ranging in size from 16"-23". The larger fish were 22" and 23". The fish were holding close to structure next to deeper water and were on schools of mullet. They ate a Mister Twister Exude jerk bait rigged in a weighted weedless hook. All fish were released.

Not true. Male specks on the gulf coast have been recorded at lengths approaching 30 inches but take longer to reach that size than females. On the east coast, male specks may exceed 32 inches.

Nice specks Jeff. Thanks for the report
