Default Bucket List Muzzle Loader Deer Hunt?

Some of y'all who have been over to my place have seen my collection of muzzle loaders most inherited from FIL. I've only fired the flintlock pistol during a "Pirate Wedding" with paper towel load. Spectacular!

Since we have settled here by Bayou Chico in 1996, each Thanksgiving we go to my Brother's farm in NE MS and deer hunt. I always carry my sporterized Mauser in 30.06, but I gave it to my Grandson In Law who now lives in Colorado so he can get some food. I also hunt deer with my M-1 Garand, or Winchester 30-30. I turkey hunt with my Winchester Model 1897 12 gauge pump that I bought new in 1952 after working on the farm and bailing hay.

So, getting around to the "Bucket List", at age 81 with several major health challenges, I thought maybe I go after Bambi with one of the antiques. We have been feeding the deer a lot of corn and they will be back for more. We have a hunting house about 50 yards from where they come eat.

1-I need some expert gunsmith muzzle loader specialist to check out these old rifles. I am a Marine, so I know the difference between a gun and a rifle. Anyone know someone?

2-After I get them checked out, I will go to the range for some familiarization and sighting in.

3-If all goes well, we will drive up to Plantersville before Thanksgiving and get some food for the winter. I am the fifth generation born in Mississippi, so must carry on the tradition of getting meat for the winter.

I'm not an expert, but I can tell you if I'd shoot it or not. As long as it isn't Damascus steel you should be fine. If nobody else better can help, I'll come by.
