Default Pics for FLYBOY Taits Gap

couldn't find any other way to host these.
FLYBOY here are a few pics of our great spot in the world Tait's gap from back in the day! this is my Great Aunt . she says only 6 families live in the Gap.
you can see Mrs Battles old store just past my Grand fathers Store with his old 1933 Ford truck

it was one of the first trucks to come with a V8 engine. , WOW a 65 Horse Power Flat Head V8 LOL.

It now has an All forged , Ported and Polished 1966 Shelby Mustang engine/ 780 Holly. Wish i could take him up Straight Mountain now !

The Windshield will fold out a long way for ventilation , It is barely open in both of these photos
I know you miss home. Thanks for serving

Thanks Jim , but Tait's Gap has never been that sophisticated to have buildings like that. This is the entire Business section and no longer exist.

I do think one guy has some chicken houses down the road.

I PM'ed FLYBOY to look at these. He is just a Youngun serving our country and away from home.

to the right of this picture is a steep hill and he grew up on top " everyone looks down on me ! LOL

Tait's Gap only had My Grand Father Parker's wooden Store which is now a home and Mrs. Battles wooden Gas Station
in the back ground no longer stands.
only a few homes and a couple of churches.
probably only 100 or so people lived there when I did , Looked the same the last time I was there. no cop or red light and don't need any, I think no business at all now.

FLYBOY is from there also , but is from the top of the Mountain where I believe people are much better off and have farms. I was down in the Gap when I stayed with that Grand father. [ i had no permanent home so I moved a lot. ].

your picture says " Oneonta's only cop "
Oneonta is the Big City of Blount County [ which is still a dry County BTW ].

this is a spin off from the Back Woods thread . Never thought i would hear from anyone who knew where Tait's Gap was. BTW I have a Large family of my own now and life is good.
